Morning Inspiration....

Nothing like waking up to the smell of espresso brewing in the Bialetti. Paul makes me coffee every morning and for this I am truly grateful. It is one of those things that makes me fall in love with him all over again, everyday. We take our coffee very seriously around here. First of all it tastes delicious and secondly (let's be honest) we are addicted and need it to stay up all night working on our projects like maniacs. Our favorite coffees are Cafe Illy, Lavazza, and our most current obsession is Stumptown which comes from Portland, Oregon. Paul's twin brother Eric lives there and got us hooked on the stuff. It is strong, aromatic and just plain amazing!

Today while drinking and writing in my journal I noticed that the scene was a colorful one that needed to be documented. Sometimes it is the simple things in life that are the most beautiful. I love being inspired by my surroundings, even if it is just reading a book, planting a flower or having a simple cup of coffee.

Mmmm. Perhaps just one more cup.

Valerie Lewis, is an amazing fine artist who specializes in custom portraits. This is a painting of her and her Mother. Instead of using canvas, Valerie prefers to find something more unique. She searches for the perfect antique to turn into a personalized time piece. Here she has found an old fashioned butter dish to create an elegant framework for her painting.

She also paints love portraits of children, families, individuals and couples.

Anavie, Mike, and Ever : Balboa Fun Zone

Its always an absolute pleasure to photograph Anavie and Mike. They look so natural in front of the camera, you'd think they model in their spare time (!). This was our first photo session with their adorable little girl Ever ... and her first time at the fun zone. It took a bit to warm her up, but bubbles and ice cream (two of my favorites things as well :) sent her to the moon! Thanks Anavie and Mike for reminding us why we love our job so much!

Joyce + Joe : Newport Beach Wedding

This wedding absolutely blew us away with delicate attention to detail and non-stop energy. It was a very full day for us ... Joyce and Joe started out getting ready separately at the Hyatt in Newport beach, then proceeded to St. Marks Presbyterian church for their first ceremony (that's right, another one later). We all then headed back to the Hyatt to the amazingly decorated Terrace Ballroom for the Persian Sofreh Aghd ceremony. It was stunning, completely intimate and meticlulously lit by Platinum Peaks lighting. Joyce's girls helped hold the silk over their heads and rubbed crystalized sugar (kalleh ghand) to symbolize the sweetening of their life (love it!).

Then the party begins! Joe's brother had everyone rolling with what could easily win as the best "best man's" speech ever! Joyce's cousins performed on stage singing a variety of classic love and pop songs. I think I even heard them play There is a Light That Never Goes Out by the Smiths ... pure awesomeness. Even their dog Bronx got dressed up for the occasion.
